Blue Dog Web Design is located in Pomfret, CT – part of the “Quiet Corner” of Northeastern CT. The company was founded in 1999 by Lisa Burgess. For the past 3 years, Lisa has primarily been working in partnership with CoreSmart Interactive, LLC—a Providence, RI based web development company (owned by Lisa and her husband, Paul) which specializes in custom web applications, site development and marketing for growing companies. Lisa endeavors to “Return to Home Base” in order to focus on assisting smaller businesses in the Quiet Corner community as well as other locales with their web site initiatives. Being a small business owner for over 15 years gives Lisa the know-how for creating affordable web sites that work hand-in-hand with traditional marketing methods.
About Lisa Burgess
My design career began working with print media in the form of desktop-publishing using PageMaker and Quark. Initially, I was designing print marketing collateral for clients such as brochures and print advertisements and later transitioned to include designing web sites for clients. Web site design became my passion and focus.
Most recently, I have added search engine optimization and marketing techniques to my skill-set which provides great benefits to our client’s Internet marketing goals. From my experience, I have found that businesses that unify their web site with their traditional marketing methods such as print advertising and then add newer media marketing such as Email Marketing or Sponsored Search will produce the greatest level of success. This “blanket approach” fills the void where using only one or two of these methods may break down or produce limited results.
When I’m not working, I enjoy being outdoors with my family. I love to explore at Mashamoquet State Park with my two children and Bailey, of course! Taking photos and doing some digital scrapbooking is also a hobby. I love to cook, volunteer at my children’s school—Pomfret Community School, sew (although this is a much more neglected hobby) and just generally be busy – which is pretty easy to do with 1 husband, 2 children, 1 dog and 2 cats!
